CHICAGO — A dog was rescued after the car the pooch was in was stolen early Thursday in Canaryville, police said.
At 2 a.m., the employee of a private security company left a white van in the 200 block of West 47th Street and the car was stolen, police said. A 3-year-old German shepherd was inside the van.
The employee, a man, had left two phones inside the car and was able to track it, police said. Chicago Police officers and the man found the van in the 4600 block of South Springfield Avenue with the dog inside.
The dog was not injured. The van, dog and phones were returned to the man.
No one was in custody.
