CHICAGO — Area police districts serving Logan Square, Wicker Park, Bucktown and West Town are seeking community input in the creation of 2019 community policing strategic plans.

The 12th District, which serves East Humboldt Park, Noble Square, Ukrainian Village, East Village and Smith Park, will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls at 1140 W. Jackson Blvd.

The 14th District, which serves Wicker Park, Bucktown and part of Logan Square, will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Holstein Park at 2200 N. Oakley Ave.

“Tables will be set up so people can talk in small groups with our officers recording what they want,” Chicago Alternative Policing Strategies (CAPS) Sgt. Adam Henkels (14th) told OurUrbanTimes.

Bucktown and Wicker Park residents may recognize Sgt. Henkels from recent public meetings about The Crib, a homeless youth shelter that wants to move to the neighborhood.
