CHICAGO — Pork & Mindy’s is opening in Mariano’s stores across the city.

The grocery chain teamed with Pork & Mindy’s to open small BBQ restaurants in 28 Mariano’s locations in the city and surrounding suburbs.

The restaurants, to be called Creative BBQ, will take up roughly 200 square feet near the front of each Mariano’s. They will serve warm grab-and-go food.

The first restaurant will open Saturday at the Bronzeville Mariano’s, 3857 S. King Drive. There will be a “rib-cutting” at 11 a.m. and other events.

Creative BBQ menus will include smoked honey mustard meatloaf and bacon-wrapped spare ribs, as well as Pork & Mindy’s classics like loaded tater tots, smokehouse beans and signature sandwiches.

The first Pork & Mindy’s opened in 2016 in Bucktown.
