PILSEN — A fire broke out at Mestizo Imports, a wholesale party supply shop, late Tuesday night in Pilsen, fire officials said.

At about 10:25 p.m., the Chicago Fire Department was alerted about the blaze at 2258 S. Blue Island Ave., said Larry Merritt, a Chicago Fire spokesman.

The fire was struck out shortly after midnight, Merritt said.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is not yet known, Merritt said.

The one-story building had propane tanks on-site, according to a Chicago Fire tweet.

The shop, which offers an assortment of Mexican party favors and decorations, also sells kitchenwares and taco stand gas grills.

An employee at the shop said the owner was not available Wednesday morning.
