CHICAGO — Men pretending to be utility workers have stolen from two North Center homes recently, police said.
The men got into the homes by pretending to be utility workers and saying the homes had water issues, police said. They distracted homeowners and then took the opportunity to rummage through rooms, taking money and jewelry.
In one of the home invasions, the men pushed past a 94-year-old woman, police said.
The incidents occurred:
- 5:45 p.m. Feb. 22 in the 3600 block of North Ravenswood Avenue
- 2:30 p.m. Monday in the 1900 block of West Eddy Street
No description of the man or men was available. A dark gray Mercedes GL was seen near the burglary in the 3600 block of North Ravenswood Avenue, police said.
Anyone with information about the incidents was asked to call police at 312-744-8263.
