CHICAGO — A new musical coming this spring will focus on the Cubs and their diehard fans.
“Miracle,” the musical, will follow the Delaneys, a blue collar North Side family that loves the Cubs, while the team’s 2016 Championship season unfolds in the background. “Miracle” will explore “what it means to have faith and lose it and try to regain it again,” according to a news release.
“This story is more than just baseball: It is about the intrinsic value of believing and how having a little faith can take you somewhere where you never imagined,” creator William Marovitz said in the news release. “For the Cubs, it was finally winning the series after 108 years, but for the fans, it was so much more.”
Previews begin May 8 at the Royal George Theatre, 1641 N. Halsted St.
Performances will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays.
Tickets will be available online through Ticketmaster or by calling the box office at 312-988-9000.
