CHICAGO — Chance the Rapper married his longtime girlfriend, Kirsten Corley, this weekend.

Chance, a Chatham native, tweeted photos of the two from the wedding at the Pelican Hill resort in Newport Beach. Calif. showing them kissing and dancing Saturday. On Instagram, he posted a photo with fellow Chicago rapper Kanye West and other mentors. Chance’s brother, rapper Taylor Bennett, also shared photos from the wedding, including photo booth pics with his brother.

Bennett and Corley have dated for years and became engaged in July. They are parents to 3-year-old Kensli.

Before the wedding, Chance tweeted the story of how he and Corley met when he was just 9 years old. The two were at an event for their parents’ work when Corley began dancing to a Destiny’s Child song. Chance’s dad encouraged him to join in but Chance refused, he wrote.

“Its cause I knew I was gonna marry that girl. And I aint wanna jump the gun,” Chance wrote. “16 years later it’s happening. This wknd is the time, and the place is my wedding. I’m gonna dance with my wife because this is my destiny.”

Chance has also sung about the two and how their relationship has changed over the years. In “65th and Ingleside,” released shortly after they became engaged, he rapped about how Corley supported them and helped him grow during the early years of their relationship.
