CHICAGO — The Chicago Department of Water Management issued a boil order in response to a water main emergency near Chicago and Hoyne Avenues.
According to a news release issued by Ald. Brian Hopkins (2nd), crews discovered a damaged valve on the main and shut water off to a portion of the water grid Monday evening.
The boil order has been issued for properties on both sides of West Chicago Avenue between Oakley Avenue and Leavitt Street.
Crews will leaflet homes and buildings in the affected areas.
