AVONDALE — A driver trying to get away from police crashed into an Avondale home early Friday, damaging its front porch but not hurting anyone, according to police.
It happened before 3:20 a.m., according to Jessica Rocco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
Officers were trying to pull over the driver — a 40-year-old man — in the 4000 block of West Diversey Avenue when the driver fled, Rocco said.
As he was trying to get away, the driver hit a parked car before crashing into a home in the 2800 block of North Central Park Avenue, according to Rocco.
The driver is in custody and charges are pending.
No injures were reported.
