CHICAGO — A shooting in West Ridge left a 27-year-old man dead and another wounded late Thursday, police said.
At 11:30 p.m., the men were sitting in a parked car in the 6500 block of North Albany Avenue when someone fired shots at them, police said.
The 27-year-old man was hit in his head and died at the scene. He was identified as Luis Aguilar, of the 7400 block of North Damen Avenue, in Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office records. Aguilar was pronounced dead at 11:53 p.m.
The second man, 26, was hit in his face and he was taken to St. Francis Hospital in serious condition.
Witnesses told investigators they heard multiple shots and then saw someone in a black Toyota RAV4 speed away from the scene of the shooting, police said.
No one was in custody. An investigation was ongoing.
Earlier this week, a 23-year-old man was shot and wounded during an argument in West Ridge.
