WEST LOOP — A woman was killed after being struck by a train Thursday morning in the West Loop, police said.
At 12:49 p.m. Thursday, a woman was found under the train at the Clinton ‘L’ station in 500 block of West Lake Street, said Officer Norma Pelayo, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
After power was turned off in both directions, the woman’s body was removed and she was pronounced dead at the scene, Pelayo said.
The Chicago Transit Authority temporarily stopped service on Green Line between California and the Loop. The temporary halt also caused delays on the Pink Line.
Area Central Detectives are investigating, Pelayo said.
No other information was immediately available.
