LOGAN SQUARE — Inbound lanes reopened early Thursday on the Kennedy Expressway after a shooting that occurred there overnight, according to Illinois State Police.
The shooting happened near the Diversey Avenue exit around 3:30 a.m., according to Sgt. Jacqueline Cepeda with the Illinois State Police.
Two people were injured in the shooting: A 20-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man. The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries, while the man, shot twice, is in serious to stable condition, officials said.
Local inbound lanes were closed between Diversey and Fullerton for about three hours after shots were fired, causing heavy traffic, according to local reports.
Police are investigating. No other information was provided.
