CHICAGO — A 20-year-old woman was hit by a car Tuesday in the Medical District.
At 9:40 a.m., the woman was crossing the street in the 1600 block of West Harrison Street when a driver hit her in the crosswalk, said Howard Ludwig, a Chicago Police spokesman.
The woman was pinned under the car. She was removed and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, said Larry Langford, a Chicago Fire spokesman.
The woman’s hip was broken, Ludwig said.
The driver was cited for hitting a pedestrian, failing to stop and not having insurance, Ludwig said.
The woman was not on a bicycle at the time of the accident, officials said.
