The Hyde Park Kenwood Community Conference is hosting the forum, set to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Kenwood Academy, 5015 S. Blackstone Ave.
Lucas, a longtime Kenwood resident, also ran for the seat in 2017.
King was first appointed to the 4th Ward seat in February 2016 after former alderman Will Burns left the post to take a job at AirBnB. She was then elected as the ward’s alderman in a February 2017 special election to fill out the remainder of Burns’ term, avoiding a runoff race.
The 4th Ward stretches from Downtown to Hyde Park along the lakefront, and the ward is home to Cook County Board President and mayoral contender Toni Preckwinkle, who previously served as alderman.
Saturday’s forum is the first of two aldermanic forums the Hyde Park Kenwood Community Conference is hosting. The group will also host a 5th Ward forum Saturday, Jan. 26 at Hyde Park Career Academy, 6220 S. Stony Island Ave.
