PILSEN — Five candidates vying for the 25th Ward seat being vacated by longtime Ald. Danny Solis will face off at a neighborhood forum Saturday morning in Pilsen.
The first of five 25th ward forums scheduled to date, the event will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Pilsen Law Center, 1545 W. 18th St. Residents must RSVP to attend.
All five candidates — Alex Acevedo, Hilario Dominguez, Aida Flores, Troy Hernandez and Byron Sigcho Lopez — will attend the forum, Block Club Chicago confirmed. The panel will be moderated by an attorney at the Pilsen Law Center.

The candidates will discuss a range of topics, including gentrification, rent control, pension obligations, school closures and more.
The topics were compiled by questions posed from residents, as well as questionnaires from the Sun-Times, the Tribune, and the Chicago Teachers Union, according to the Pilsen Law Center.
Saturday’s forum was organized by the Pilsen Law Center and Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois.
