CHICAGO — Two elderly women were knocked down by a mugger Sunday in Ukrainian Village, police said.
At 5:45 p.m., an 84-year-old woman was outside in the 2300 block of West Rice Street when a man walked up to her and grabbed her arm and her purse, police said. The man pulled the woman to the ground and, during the incident, knocked over an 85-year-old woman, too.
The 85-year-old woman fell to the ground and was injured, police said.
The man ran to a waiting car and drove away, police said.
The man was 18-20 years old, black, 6 feet to 6-foot-2 and 150-180 pounds, police said. He wore a black jacket and drove away in a cream- or tan-colored SUV or minivan.
