CHICAGO — A Loop store was broken into for the third time in less than a month on New Year’s Day, police said.
The store in the 100 block of South State Street was burglarized twice in early December and then again on Tuesday, according to a Chicago Police Department business alert. In the most recent robbery, a burglar got into the store by breaking through a revolving door.
The burglar took as many items as he could carry and then left; afterward, a second person went through the broken door and also stole from the store, police said.
The burglaries occurred:
- 1:40 a.m. Dec. 5
- 3:40-9:45 a.m. Dec. 9
- 5:35 a.m. Tuesday
One of the thieves was described as a black man who was 32-35 years old, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7 and 135 pounds, police said. He wore his hair in dreadlocks and wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and black leather coat.
The other thief was described as a black man who was 5-foot-9 to 6 feet tall and 180-200 pounds, police said. He wore a black and white hat and black coat.
