CHICAGO — A man is in Northwestern Memorial Hospital after he was run over by his own car during a Thursday night carjacking in Old Town, police said.
At 10 p.m. Thursday, the 35-year-old man stopped his car in the 200 block of West Eugenie Street so he could get his wife and child, police said.
Before he could put his child inside the car, though, a boy or man got into it.
The carjacker tried to drive away and the man confronted him and tried to pull him out of the car, police said. But the man slipped under the car and the carjacker ran him over.
The man was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as “stable,” police said.
Officers later found the stolen car with no one inside, police said.
No one was in custody.
