2 Women Have Necks Cut In West Humboldt, West Pullman Killings, Police Say

At least one of the slayings was possibly related to a domestic incident, police said.

CHICAGO — Two women were found slain Thursday in West Humboldt Park and West Pullman.

At 4:20 p.m., a woman’s body was found in the back gangway of a home in the 1200 block of North Kildare Avenue in West Humboldt Park, police said. The woman had lacerations on her neck and she was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The woman has not yet been identified by officials.

About an hour later, at 5:30 p.m., a 41-year-old woman was found unresponsive in the 200 block of West 119th Street in West Pullman, police said. She, too, had lacerations on her neck and was pronounced dead.

The woman was identified as Kecia Castro, of the 10900 block of South Lowe Avenue, in Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office records. Castro was pronounced dead at 6:08 p.m.

The slaying was possibly a domestic-related incident, police said.

No one was in custody in either slaying. Investigations were ongoing.

There were no known connections between the killings, police said.
