CHICAGO — A group of people robbed a Wicker Park store and pepper sprayed two of its employees Monday night, police said.

At 8:33 p.m., a group of eight to 10 people were inside the store — identified as Akira, 1814 W. North Ave., by NBC5  — when they started “causing a disturbance” and an employee asked them to leave, police said.

Members of the group started stealing items, police said. When an employee tried to confront the group, one person pepper sprayed two of the employees and the group members ran off.

Officers found one of the members of the group, an underage boy who was identified by the store employees, police said. He was taken into custody.

Stolen items were found in an alley, police said. The employees who were pepper sprayed refused medical attention.
