LINCOLN PARK — The newest Super Smash Bros. game is coming out this weekend and Replay Lincoln Park is having a gaming extravaganza to celebrate.
The bar at 2833 N. Sheffield Ave. will allow fans of the extremely popular series to bring in their consoles and new copies of “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” to play together, according to Replay. Attendees will also be able to play at communal consoles.
Super Smash Bros. is a video game series that pits characters from different gaming franchises — like Mario, Pikachu and Kirby — against each other to see who’d win in a fight. The newest entry in the series comes out late Thursday.
Participants in the gaming extravaganza will be able to play for fun or join in casual and competitive tournaments, according to Replay.
Replay will also have themed drinks and art created just for the event, according to the bar.
The weekend-long event kicks off with a Launch Night Character Unlock Party that starts 11 p.m. Thursday and ends 2 a.m. Friday. An invitational tournament on Sunday will end the gaming extravaganza.
The event runs Thursday-Sunday at Replay Linoln Park, 2833 N. Sheffield Ave.
