CHICAGO — A man trying to abduct a woman was thwarted when another woman stepped in Saturday night in Brainerd.
At 6:10 p.m., the victim, an adult woman, was in the 1400 block of West 95th Street when a man got out of a van and asked her if she had a light, according to a Chicago Police community alert. The man then touched the woman and attempted to drag her into his van.
Another woman drove up and asked the man what he was doing to the woman, which distracted the man, police said. The victim broke free and ran home.
The man was described as 6 feet tall and 240 pounds with a teardrop tattoo under his left eye, police said.
Anyone with information about the attempted abduction was asked to call police at 312-747-8271.
