WEST LOOP — A popular fast casual Italian beef eatery is opening its doors Saturday in West Loop.
Buona Beef will open its third location in the city at 804 W. Washington Blvd. This will be the family-owned chain’s 24th restaurant nationally.
The eatery will offer old-school Chicago classics like Italian beef, Italian sausage, meatball and pepper and egg sandwiches, as well as protein bowls, salads and cafe sandwiches at the West Loop location.
Buona Beef’s new location was previously home to Harold’s Chicken, according to Eater. The 2,100-square-foot, 56-seat restaurant features a bar area serving up beer on tap and wine, too.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of the vibrant West Loop community,” Joe Buonavolanto, Jr., a second-generation Buona owner, said in a statement. “This location is distinctive in that it is steeped in Chicago history – a fitting location to continue the city’s great Italian beef tradition.”
During Saturday’s grand opening, Buona will offer free Italian beef sandwiches to everyone who lines up before 10 a.m. All diners will be given scratch-off tickets with a chance to win various free food offers as well as a grand prize of free Italian beef for a year.
Buona Beef is open daily from 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m.
