The event honors and reflects on the progress made locally, nationally and internationally in the HIV/AIDS community.
“Recognizing the global impact that HIV has had, the international community must continue working together to honor those we’ve lost, ensure those living with HIV thrive, and strive to create a world where new HIV cases are rare, ” said Edward Wagner, AIDS Foundation of Chicago’s chief external relations officer.
Proceeds from the gala will support the AIDS Foundation of Chicago’s efforts including: housing for Chicagoans living with HIV, case management services and training medical professionals about PrEP.
Since 1988, World AIDS Day, observed Dec. 1, aims to bring public awareness and highlighting efforts and progress around AIDS/HIV.
