HUMBOLDT PARK — Humboldt Park is the new Boystown — at least on television.

A couple of days ago, a rainbow Boystown banner and a big, yellow lamppost popped up along California Avenue near Augusta Boulevard in Humboldt Park.

Turns out, it was for a TV shoot.

FOX recreated a Boystown streetscape in Humboldt Park for its new legal drama, “Proven Innocent,” starring Catherine Lidstone, Elaine Hendrix and Harry Jarvis.

The production company started filming there Monday morning and plans to wrap up by the end of business day Wednesday, according to a spokesman for the Chicago Film Office. It has permits to continue shooting throughout the neighborhood past Wednesday, the spokesman said.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the Boystown sign and lamppost had already been taken down.

And no, we don’t know why FOX didn’t just film in Boystown.
