CHICAGO — A man who momentarily escaped from Chicago Police officers was hit by two cars Monday on the Far South Side.

At 5:48 a.m. Monday, a Chicago Police van was at the South Chicago District (4th) Police Station, 2255 E. 103rd St., to pick up people in custody when a man inside the van opened the door and ran away, police said.

The 22-year-old man ran one block to the 2100 block of East 103rd Street and was hit by two cars while in the street, police said.

He was taken back into custody and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. He had “minor abrasions” and his condition was not available but he was listed as “stable,” police said.
