CHICAGO — A teen has been charged with setting off fireworks Wednesday inside Morgan Park High School, police said.
At 11:25 a.m., a 16-year-old boy threw fireworks inside the school, “causing damage to the school structure” at 1744 W. Pryor Ave., according to a Chicago Police news release. School officials identified the boy in surveillance video, which shows him running down a stairwell and throwing fireworks, police said.
The boy turned himself into police on Wednesday evening.
The 16-year-old has been charged with attempted aggravated arson, a felony, police said. He appeared in Juvenile Court on Thursday.
