IRVING PARK — Police issued an alert after a man tried to lure a child into his car Tuesday in Irving Park.

The child was walking west in the 3400 block of West Irving Park Road at about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday when a man in a red four-door sedan tried to get the minor to walk towards the car so he could offer the child a ride, police said.

The child refused and began running away while the man in the red sedan kept trying to convince the child to enter his car.

Police say the man has a “medium chin-length hairstyle” and stubble, is in his mid to late 20s, and was last seen wearing a long black shirt or black jacket.
