Uptown Sees 3 Burglaries In 1 Week, Police Warn

The most recent burglary happened Tuesday in the 4800 block of North Magnolia Avenue, police said.

A 14-year-old girl who was shot in the head Wednesday was listed in critical condition at Comer Children’s Hospital, officials said.

CHICAGO —A burglar or burglars has hit three times in Uptown in one week, police said.

The burglar got into homes by going through unlocked windows and kicking open back doors, according to a Chicago Police community alert.

The burglaries occurred:

• 3-5 p.m. Oct. 31 in the 1300 block of West Winnemac Avenue
• 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of West Argyle Avenue
• 9 a.m.-6:25 p.m. Tuesday in the 4800 block of North Magnolia Avenue

No description of the burglar was available.

Anyone with information about the burglaries was asked to call police at 312-744-8263.
