CHICAGO — An Uptown man has been charged with hate crimes for allegedly drawing anti-Semitic graffiti on buildings near his home, police said.
Heath Levey, 51, of the 4200 block of North Clarendon Avenue, has been charged with two counts of a hate crime and three counts of criminal defacement of property, according to a Chicago Police news release.
Between 1 and 3:30 p.m. Nov. 2, Levey drew a swastika and other graffiti on property in the largely residential 800 block of West Hutchinson Street, police said. He was recorded by home surveillance cameras and the footage was used to identify him, police said.
Levey was schedule to appear Friday in Bond Court.
