LOGAN SQUARE — An Oak Park-based bar and beer store is bringing the concept to Logan Square.
The hybrid, called DrinkShop, is opening on the ground floor of the modern apartment building at 2513 W. Armitage Ave., according to recently issued city permits. It will be neighbors with the new $220-per-person sushi restaurant Kyōten.
At DrinkShop, patrons will be able to sit at the bar and order craft beer and cocktails, as well as coffee courtesy of neighbor Caffe Umbria, according to Eater, which was first to report the news. They will also be able to grab a six-pack to go.
“We are a BYOF craft lounge & bottle shop in Logan Square. Sip one of our cocktails, grab a 6 pack to go or have a cup of joe. Either way, enjoy your stay,” DrinkShop’s Facebook page reads.
No word yet on when DrinkShop will open. Messages left for owner Tony Compaglia were not returned Wednesday.
Compaglia’s original Oak Park location is called BeerShop, and it offers six revolving beer taps and more than 250 different types of packaged beer, according to its website. All of the beer is locally sourced.
