CHICAGO — A 29-year-old woman was shot Tuesday night near the border of Avondale and Irving Park, police said.
At 7:45 p.m., the woman was standing on the sidewalk in the 3300 block of North Keystone Avenue when she heard shots and felt pain, police said.
The woman was hit in her right calf and she was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital in good condition, police said.
No one was in custody and investigation was ongoing.
Dr. Abdul Muhammad has been reassigned to a district network office. It was not immediately known why, but CPS officials said it was not related to reports of teachers taking students to vote at a nearby polling place.
