Lincoln Park Homes Hit By Robber 6 Times In 9 Days, Sometimes While Victims Were Inside Sleeping

The robber has sometimes struck while people were sleeping or distracted inside the homes he was stealing from, police said.

A home in the 1500 block of West Wrightwood Avenue was robbed Monday afternoon, police said.

CHICAGO — A robber stole from six Lincoln Park homes in the span of nine days, police said.

The robber broke into the homes through unlocked windows and doors and by taking the garage remote from unlocked cars and getting into garages attached to homes, police said. He stole from homes and cars, sometimes striking while victims were sleeping or busy inside the homes he was robbing.

The robberies occurred:

• Oct. 20-21 in the 2700 block of North Greenview Avenue
• Oct. 21-22 in the 2700 block of North Janssen Avenue
• 12:30 a.m. Oct. 22 int he 2600 block of North Sourtport Avenue
• 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Oct. 24 in the 2500 block of North Ashland Avenue
• 1:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of North Ashland Avenue
• 3 p.m. Monday in the 1500 block of West Wrightwood Avenue

No detailed description of the robber was immediately available.
