CHICAGO — Dozens of cars on a normally quiet Hyde Park block were damaged Halloween night by a large group of teenagers who stormed down the street.
At 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, the large group of teens went along the 5400 block of South Ridgewood Court and damaged several cars, police said. No one was injured.
About two dozen cars were damaged during the incident, with one resident of the block saying it was possible more than 100 teens participated, according to WBBM. His car had its sunroof caved in.
Photos of the damage posted by WBBM showed multiple windshields smashed.
No one was in custody.
Meanwhile, about an hour after the cars were damaged, a large group of teens robbed and attacked multiple University of Chicago students near 56th Street and University Avenue, according to the Chicago Maroon.
One student was hospitalized.
Hyde Park has repeatedly seen problems on Halloween in recent years, with large groups of young people causing vandalism and drawing a large police response.
