Burglars Hit Uptown Homes 6 Times, Police Say

The most recent burglary happened Monday in the 4400 block of North Dover Street, police said.

CHICAGO — Uptown has been hit by six burglaries in recent weeks, police said.

The burglar or burglars got into homes through unlocked doors and by cutting out window screens and going through windows, according to a Chicago Police community alert.

The burglaries occurred:

• 11 a.m. Oct. 11 in the 4500 block of North Dover Street
• 11:30 a.m. Oct. 11 in the 4400 block of North Beacon Street
• 7 a.m.-6:15 p.m. Oct. 22 in the 4400 block of North Beacon Street
• 5:45 p.m. Oct. 23 in the 4600 block of North Dover Street
• 3 p.m. Friday-11:30 p.m. Sunday in the 4500 block of North Beacon Street
• 7:45 a.m. Monday in the 4400 block of North Dover Street

During one of the burglaries, the thief was described as a white man who was 19-20 years old and about 6-foot-1, police said. He had red hair.
