CHICAGO — A burglar has struck seven times across West Town and Logan Square since the start of October, police said.

The burglar forced open doors to homes and stole items from inside, typically striking during the day while the residents were at work, according to a Chicago Police community alert. Sometimes, the burglar has targeted homes under construction and stolen from them at night when the construction workers are gone.

The burglaries occurred:

• 4 p.m. Oct. 1-6 a.m. Oct. 2 in the 1200 block of North Damen Avenue in Wicker Park
• 4 p.m. Oct. 3-6 a.m. Oct. 4 in the 2500 block of North Francisco Avenue in Logan Square
• 6:15 a.m.-5:17 p.m. Oct. 11 in the 1200 block of North Milwaukee Avenue in Noble Square
• 8 p.m. Oct. 21-6 a.m. Oct. 22 in the 1700 block of West Wabansia Avenue in Bucktown
• 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 22 in the 1600 block of North Bosworth Avenue in Bucktown
• 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 22 in the 1600 block of North Bosworth Avenue in Bucktown
• 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday in the 3100 block of North California Avenue in Avondale
