12 People Charged With Throwing Eggs, Punching People At Hyde Park Halloween Festival, Police Say

Eleven of the people charged are juveniles, police said.

A 14-year-old girl who was shot in the head Wednesday was listed in critical condition at Comer Children’s Hospital, officials said.

CHICAGO — One adult and 11 teens or children were arrested after getting into fights at a Halloween festival in Hyde Park, police said.

At 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, the 12 were seen throwing eggs and golf balls and punching people at a Halloween festival around the 5300 block of South Lake Park Avenue, police said.

Police said they also ignored orders from officers to stop and disperse.

The 12 people were charged with reckless conduct, police said.

Later that night, at 9:30 p.m., a large group of teenagers went along the 5400 block of South Ridgewood Court, damaging several cars, police said.
