CHICAGO — Police have released images of two cars they said were involved in a fatal hit-and-run Tuesday in Chatham.
At 3:05 a.m., a man was walking near 79th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue when a driver hit him, police said.
The man was trapped under the car as the driver continued moving, going east on 79th Street, police said. The man was dragged to the 7900 block of South Dobson Avenue.
The man was pronounced dead at 3:15 a.m. at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. He has not yet been identified.
One of the cars involved was a gray Ford Focus, and the other was a Nissan Altima that had damage to its front end and a fractured windshield, police said.
