CHICAGO — A man was dragged under a car for about five blocks during a hit-and-run early Tuesday in Chatham, police said.
At 3:10 a.m., the man was walking in the 7900 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when someone driving a gray Hyundai Elantra hit him, police said.
The man was trapped under the car as the driver continued moving, going east on 79th Street, police said. The man was dragged to the 7900 block of South Dobson Avenue.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not yet been identified by officials.
No one was in custody. An investigation was ongoing.
