LINCOLN PARK — Goose Island Brewery will offer a sneak peek of new brews to raise money for victims affected by the recent Guatemalan volcano eruption at a preview event next month in Lincoln Park.
Earlier this year, Goose Island brewers teamed up with Intelligentsia and traveled to Acatenango, Guatemala where they met farmers and sourced their coffee beans for its new Coffee Barleywine brew.
Now, Goose Island is aiming to raise money to help the farmers and families impacted by Guatemala’s Volcán de Fuego this summer.
During the fundraiser, the brewery will offer tastes of their Bourbon County Stout varieties including their new Coffee Barleywine at Goose Island Brewing, 1800 N. Clybourn Ave. Thursday, Nov. 1.
For $35, ticket holders will sip on five-ounce pours of the new 2018 BCS Coffee Barleywine, along with a tasting of coffee from Finca la Soledad.
Portions of the proceeds will go to TECHO, a Guatemalan-based nonprofit that will help support people displaced by the volcano eruption.
