LAKEVIEW — Kids can go trick-or-treating, decorate pumpkins and more during a Halloween event in Lakeview Monday.

The event will feature trick-or-treating at businesses along Southport, games and artistic activities for kids and beer gardens at Southport and Cornelia and Southport and Grace for those 21 and older, according to a Lakeview Chamber news release.

Attendees can also watch a costumed dog parade or bring along a furry friend to participate. Participants can meet starting at 5:30 p.m. in the MB Financial parking lot. They will get a goodie bag for their dogs, and a $10 suggested donation will go to the Chicago Canine Rescue.

Whole Foods will hand out mini pumpkins to the first 1,000 people who want to decorate one at Southport and Waveland avenues, or attendees can bring their own pumpkins to decorate.

Stores and restaurants along Southport will also have deals and special offerings during the event, and there will be a photo booth.

The event runs 4-8 p.m. Monday on Southport Avenue between Roscoe and Grace streets. More information is available online.

Volunteers are needed. Those interested in helping can email Carisa@LakeviewChamber.com.
