CHICAGO — A 29-year-old man was shot during a carjacking Monday morning in Pilsen, police said.
At 1:34 a.m., the 29-year-old left his car running in the 1600 block of West Cullerton Street and got into another car, police said. While he was in the other car, a man got out of a black car and got into the victim’s car.
The victim walked back to his car and the man stealing it fired shots at him, police said. The 29-year-old was hit in his abdomen and he was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.
No one was in custody and an investigation was ongoing.
