CHICAGO — More than 20 people were hurt when a CTA bus crashed into a pole early Wednesday in Grand Crossing.

At 6:28 a.m., an eastbound No. 71 bus hit a pole at the intersection of 71st Street and Cottage Grove Avenue, said CTA spokesman Steve Mayberry. The Chicago Police and Fire departments responded.

At least 26 people were hurt, with 21 of them taken to hospitals for minor injuries, according to the Sun-Times. All were in good condition.

The cause of the crash was unknown, but officials are investigating.

Buses were temporarily rerouted after the crash.
