CHICAGO — A shooting in Rogers Park on Friday morning is unrelated to two recent slayings that have put the community on edge, police said.
At 7:45 a.m., a 36-year-old man was in the 7600 block of North Greenview when he got into an argument with another person, police said. The other person took out a gun and fired shots.
The man was hit in his back and was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as “stable,” police said.
The gunman got into a tan-colored car and drove away, police said. No one was in custody.
The shooting didn’t appear to be related to two fatal shootings that happened earlier this week, said Anthony Guglielmi, a Chicago Police spokesman, in a tweet.
The fatal shootings are linked, police have said, and they’re looking for the gunman behind those attacks.
