Women Shot With Tasers, Robbed In Noble Square And Little Italy, Police Say

In one incident, a 20-year-old woman suffered cuts to her knees and was taken to an area hospital, police said.

CHICAGO — Two women were shot with taser guns and robbed of their belongings in Little Italy and Noble Square in broad daylight last Thursday and Sunday.

The first robbery happened at about 4:35 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of South May Street, said Officer Jessica Rocco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

According to Rocco, a 20-year-old woman was walking when an unknown man used “a tasing/stunning device” to cause the woman to fall down. The man who tasered the woman took her personal belongings and fled the scene.

Rocco said the woman was taken to the University of Illinois at Chicago Hospital and “treated for lacerations to her knees.”

Rocco said the victim described the robber as a black man, age 20-25, wearing blue jeans and a white, turquoise and gray windbreaker.

The second robbery happened at about 3:59 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of North Cleaver Street, Rocco said.

In the second case, the victim refused medical attention. Area North Detectives are investigating, Rocco said. 

Rocco said the victim described the robber as a male black teenager, approximately 15-years-old, thin, wearing a black hoodie and a gray “covering” over his face. He also wore black jeans and was carrying a black backpack, according to Rocco.

Area Central Detectives are investigating, she said.
