CHICAGO — A man selling loose cigarettes was beaten early Saturday in the Loop.
At 2:30 a.m., the man was in the 100 block of North State Street when he tried to sell a loose cigarette to a woman on the train, police said. The woman didn’t like his price and he harassed her, police said.
The woman and a group of men then beat the seller, bruising his face, police said.
The man, 30, was taken to Northwestern Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as “stable,” police said.
No one was in custody and an investigation was ongoing.
