IRVING PARK — A homeowner woke up to broken glass on the first floor of her home Thursday morning after someone threw a concrete planter through her window.
Someone threw the planter through the front window of a home in the 4100 Block of West Newport Avenue, shattering the window and a coffee table, said Jennifer Bryk, a police spokesperson.
The block the home is on is a residential area comprised of one-way streets. The homeowner told Block Club she’s unsure why her home was damaged like this and reported the vandalism to police at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
Bryk said it appears the planter was thrown sometime between Wednesday after 8 p.m. and when it was first reported to police on Thursday morning. The vandalism appears to be an isolated incident, police said.
