NORTH PARK — A 15-year-old boy has been charged in a hit-and-run on the border of Chicago and Lincolnwood.

The fatal crash happened about 5:20 p.m. Sunday, when the boy was driving a car in the 3300 block of West Devon Avenue and hit a 67-year-old man on a bike, police said. The man was taken to St. Francis Hospital and died.

At 9:30 a.m. Monday, the boy and one of his parents walked into the Lincoln (20th) District police station and he turned himself in, police said.

Police said the driver did not render aid or leave any identification after hitting the senior citizen and continued to drive the Dodge east on Devon Avenue.

The boy has been charged with failing to report a fatal accident, reckless homicide with a car and leaving the scene of a fatal accident, police said.
