CHICAGO — Restaurants from around the city are celebrating dumplings this week.
Dumplings can be sweet or savory and are made from chunks of dough cooked in a variety of ways and stuffed (or left unstuffed) with fillings like meat and herbs. They are found on dinner tables around the world and celebrated on National Dumpling Day, which falls on Wednesday.
Here’s where dumpling lovers can get their fix for the holiday:
This Logan Square cafe is serving up five dumplings for $5 on Wednesday. Darjeeling pork, Kathmandu chicken and chiya veggie dumplings will be available, among other flavors.
The offer will be available 11 a.m.-10 p.m. at Chiya Chai, 2770 N. Milwaukee Ave.
Urbanbelly will have $1 dumplings 6-10 p.m. Wednesday at its two locations, 1400 W. Randolph St. and 1542 N. Damen Ave. The dumplings will be stuffed with fillings like pork and cilantro or beef and cheddar, among other options, according to a news release.
