CHICAGO — Two people were hurt when a man was shot and crashed his car into a CVS late Thursday in Portage Park.

At 11:59 p.m., the 23-year-old man was driving in the 5800 block of West Addison Street when someone inside another car fired shots at him, police said. The man was hit in his head, torso and arm.

The man tried to drive away but crashed into a store — a CVS, according to ABC7 — in the 3600 block of North Central Avenue, police said. His passenger, a 28-year-old woman, hurt her arm in the crash.

The two took themselves to Community First Hospital and were transferred to Illinois Masonic Hospital. The man was in serious condition and the woman’s condition was not available, but she was listed as “stable,” police said.

No one was in custody.
